Indian payroll has its own complexity. There's Basic, HRA, DA, conveyance, special allowance, LTA, transport allowance — plus statutory components like PF (12% employee + 12% employer), ESI (if applicable), Professional Tax (state-specific), TDS (as per declaration) and gratuity provisioning. Most schools already have a biometric device for staff attendance. The problem is that the biometric machine is disconnected from payroll — someone downloads a CSV every month, cleans it, matches it against leaves, and hand-calculates working days.
